Company History

Our firm was founded in 1985 by William T. Thorn. Bill began his career in 1971 with Deloitte Haskins & Sells nka Deloitte. where he served as the partner in charge of the tax department of its Dayton Ohio office.

In 1987 Darrel W. Hollenbacher joined Mr. Thorn and they purchased the Dayton office of Meaden & Moore, a regional firm based in Cleveland Ohio. The firm name became Thorn & Hollenbacher, Inc.

Robert W. Lewis joined the firm in 1987. Bob began his career in 1978 with Deloitte Haskins & Sells nka Deloitte. where he served as a senior manager in its Dayton Ohio office.

In 1996 William D. Duncan combined his practice with Thorn & Hollenbacher, Inc. Bill began his career in 1974 with Deloitte Haskins & Sells nka Deloitte. where he served as a manager in its Dayton Ohio office. From 1985 to 1995, Bill was a partner in the CPA firm of Stout and Duncan, Inc.

In 1998 Mr. Hollenbacher resigned from the firm to accept a position with one of our clients. The firm name became Thorn, Lewis & Duncan, Inc. in June 1998.

In 2002, Donald J. Schrodi became a shareholder. Don joined the firm in 1990 after beginning his career in the international accounting department at NCR’s World Headquarters.
